Trip to Flinders Ranges-Day 3 Bunyeroo Valley,Brachina Gorge,Moralana Scenic Drive Part 1

On day 3 of our trip Jim and I did a loop journey through the Bunyeroo Valey and Gorge, Razor Back Lookout,Brachina Gorge and Moralana Scenic Drive then back to Hawker. The turn off for this trip is a few K's past the Wilpena Pound Turnoff. It was a sunny but cold day but great for travelling. We went through some muddy patches but my Kia Sportage was fine in traversing the terrain.About 20 years ago we did the same trip with my inlaws in a Ford Falcon Station Wagon. At that time the creeks were running and we had to drive through some water over the track but the station wagon was fine.We saw lots of Kangaroos and Emus and some Feral Goats. Bird life was not that abundant but we saw Galahs,Correllas,Apostle Birds and Crows mainly.
Here are some pics.
Tghewre were several vehicles on this journey and we were therefor not in danger of being stranded by ourselves. It is a popular drive and I would highly recommend it.
A highlight was meeting Bruce and Chris pedalling their Tandem Mountain Bike uphill towards us.
You will find them on Instagram as "Flyingwithfourpedals"
Here are some pics.
More to come in Part 2.

  2. Great photos Geoff. I'm surprised the pie didn't get pinched by an emu! KUTGW.
