The Bird Art of Roger Murcott

Today when traveling back from Renmark I called in at the studio of Kapunda Bird Artist Roger Murcott.

Roger in his studio

I had been there before and posted an article about this studio.

It's called "Birds of A Feather"

Roger politely put up with my enthusiastic presence and allowed me to take a few pics.

I believe Roger's Bird art and also his wood sculpting is right up there with anyone else in this field.

He has original artwork for sale and also prints and postcard size prints.

He does all his framing on site and you can also buy prints unframed.

The studio is unique as you can see from the pictures.

Below is also a link to his website.

Well worth the visit if you love birds and bird art.

Roger has 40 years experience doing this and it shows.

On the Road Again-Morgan Road that is...

Today I went for a ride in friend Greg's yellow MG Sports car to Morgan in South Australia's Riverland.
As usual took a number of pics. Some are shared here.
I did some video from the MG so hopefully will put together a small movie and link it from Youtube to here.
A great day was had by all but a differenet exoereince than driving in modern cars but a lot of fun.
Listening to a huge compilation of 60's songs and guessing the title and artists was our "adult" fun game for the journey.

Here are some pics.

Morningstar Nursery Kapunda

While travelling back from Renmark today we had time to quickly call in and have a look at Morningstar Nursery at Kapunda.
We have driven past the turn off several times while travelling and this time thought we would check it out.
(My wife grew up in a plant nursery in South Australia's Riverland.)
There we met Anne Hazel who is an Iris specialist but also now turning her hand at other plants as well.
We were a couple of weeks early to see her Iris' in full bloom but could imagine that will be worth seeing soon.
Here are some pics I took today.
