This morning after reading a review on Debra Byrne's performance at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Lesley and I got ready in time enough to see her 11am performance.
The reviews were warranted.
A very special lady who has long been a household name in our generation in Australian Music.
We purchased her Autobiography in which she shares both her heartaches and triumphs.
For us "I dreamed a dream" was special and so was "memory" and many others.
A monologue about her personal struggles and pointing to hope with brilliant piano accompiament was very moving.
The encore was "Both sides now."
The audience at 11am was mainly older people and a bit subdued but appreciative just the same.
Well worth seeing this show if it comes to a venue near you.
The band was very good, especially Daniel the pianist who had more work to do.
Below is a link to one of the reviews.
She did thank God for where she is today. We do to.
